Dr. Emily Lowther

M.Sc. (Speech Pathology), Ph.D (Speech Pathology) CCC-SLP

Emily has her doctoral degree from Wayne State University and investigated the speech fluency profiles of people with Down syndrome.

While working in the Behavior, Speech & Genetics Lab, Emily was involved in a broad range of research projects including Delayed Auditory Feedback,  the genetics of stuttering, the rhythm and prosody skills in people who stutter, and the impact of temperament and environment on individual's stuttered speech severity.

Emily wants to continue working with and advocating  for the Down syndrome population. She wants to develop new therapeutic guidelines to improve  quality-of-life through developmental, linguistic, motor-speech, and stuttering intervention strategies.

Emily is known as a kind, empathetic clinician who enjoys her therapy and supports people from all walks of life.
