Alice is a certified practicing speech pathologist and casual academic staff member of the Curtin University School of Allied Health.
Alice completed her PhD in stuttering in 2022 and was awarded the Chancellor’s Commendation of excellence for this research.
As part of her PhD, Alice completed a clinical trial of an integrated fluency + Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) treatment for adults who stutter, co-written with Associate Professor Janet Beilby.
Her clinical and research interests include the successful treatment of stuttering difficulties and improving quality of life for people who stutter. As a parent of two young children, Alice acknowledges the complexities of family life and is passionate about adopting a holistic approach to treatment for all ages.
Alice works with people who stutter across the lifespan to maximise their confidence and well-being. She also works with children with speech sound difficulties (e.g., those with difficulty making certain sounds or being understood) to maximise their participation.
Alice currently works at the clinic on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
